Police Technology Glossary

Hi, my name is Joey and I'm 19 years old. I have been studying Police Technology for 3 years now. This glossary will be useful for people who want to apply in this program. It contains the words commonly used by police forces. My glossary contains 20 different words with features and resources like images and pronunciation audio files. I used the words and definitions that I found in my Actively Engaged Online book. Go ahead and read my words to learn more about the police profession.

To seize and hold under the authority of law.

Example: The policeman arrests the criminal.

Equipment primarily intended to protect the thorax, abdomen and back against the firing of firearms by absorbing impact.

Example: The police officer wears his bulletproof vest for protection.

Canadian Criminal Code

A law that codifies most criminal offences and procedures in Canada.

Example: The lawyer searched in the Canadian Criminal Code for the sentence of a murder.

An illegal chemical substance that changes the state of a normal person.

Example: Police special squads are trying to stop the drug traffic.

The available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief about a crime is true or valid.

Example: The judge wants to see the evidence that the police brought.
