They maintain peace, law and order in the city. Also, they protect citizens and their proprieties while also preventing criminal acts and search for their authors. Police officers must maintain the trust of the citizens they serve.

They patrol around their sector while paying attention to any criminal acts or possible threats that could occur. Also, they answer emergency calls from people in need. Every intervention in a day is really different because people call the police for many reasons.
Where do police officers work?
Police officers work in different places depending on their assignation. For example, state troopers maintain order on major highways whereas sheriffs patrol districts with a small population. Depending on the area they work, police officers will face different problematic and their intervention may vary.
How can I become a police officer?
You must have an excellent physical condition, including a near perfect vision, a good height and weight and a great strength. Also, you must complete a college diploma in the Police Technology program and succeed the National Police School program.
How much money do police officers make?
In the province of Quebec, they make an estimated salary of $79011 per year. Their salary can vary depending on their seniority and position in the organisation.
What kinds of additional training do police officers need?
Police officers will have additional training from the beginning to the end of their career. For example, they must complete their firearm test every year at a firing range. Also, they can acquire new skills in many specializations of the police force such as, road safety, drug and other substances, criminology and many more.
What are the dangers of being a police officer?
There are many dangers related to the police officer profession. Since every work day is different, they must be prepared for every situation and crisis that could occur. Also, police officers face dangerous criminals that are sometimes armed.
What are the chances that police officers will be replaced by robots soon?
Since police officers can be called to do the job of everything between a social worker to a soldier, robots won't replace them any time soon. Robots aren't able to accomplish every task a police officer must do.
What age do police officers retire at?
After 20 years of serving, police officers are usually able to retire with a pension.

In conclusion, I can't wait to officially become a police officer. I almost completed my third year of studying in the Police Technology program.
